I have a PhD degree from the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (2002, Barcelona, Spain). I have worked in the University of Vienna, National University of Singapore, Universita' degli Studi dell'Insubria and in the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO). Since January of 2012, I hold a Future Fellowship from the Australian Research Council. I am also an Associate Professor at Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia). Here I lead an experimental research group (QIRON) currently composed by three post-doctoral Fellows and six Ph.D. students. We study the interactions of light and matter at the nanoscale, focusing on applications to Quantum Metrology, Quantum Information and Nanophotonics. We have been funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC), through the Discovery Project and the Center of Excellence programs (CoE). I belong to the CoE on Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS).
